Ian Downie is a professional audio and video engineer with cross-discipline experience in live sound, recording, video, lighting, staging, electric, immersive video environments, V.J. art, documentaries and event planning. He’s also a web architect and communications consultant for NGO’s and musicians through Open Dome Productions and Conscious Blue Communications. Passionate about NGO organizing, promotions, and communication, he provides support for a variety of innovative philanthropic projects across the US. His deepest passion is for experiential video design. Video communicates powerful emotion with the potential to reach people in new ways. Like Buckminster Fuller, Open Dome Productions is becoming today’s “Trimtab” exemplar.

His main focus today is working with graphics and video to enhance visual experiences. He has a gifted eye for aesthetics and a creative mind for bringing life to projects. Using these talents, Jack seeks to help others tell their stories.

His is known for being successful in developing, implementing and integrating marketing and sales programs, very creative, an entrepreneur, developing processes, procedures and metrics, motivational leader, sound business knowledge, proven strategic planning skills, problem solving and instinctive ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.

His education in Anthropology and Sustainable Development ignites a passion for telling original and inspiring stories, driving Soup to constantly create innovative digital media.

He blends his multimedia skills with a solid journalistic style in order to produce rich awe inspiring content that is sure to grab viewers attention. He specializes in nature photography where his passion with the natural world, expertise in ecology and backcountry skills allow him to thrive in the most inhospitable natural environments. He plays a key role in telling important stories ranging from the smallest and most elusive of gods creatures to the most pressing societal issues of our time.

David Walen

Visual Artist, Project Manager, Educational Presenter

David Walen has been working in the architectural, craft, and design fields for more than 10 years. He has also been involved in performing, composing music, even inventing and fabricating instruments (Dulci-harps, Flutes, Pianos). His training at the University of Charlotte NC unleashed his passion to reinvent the wheel. He has worked with award winning architects, urbanist, musicians, writers, and artists. He has a mission to reach into the ancient and apply to today, the crucial nature of a world more in harmony with its bio-region. Today he is a member of The Seasteading Institute, AIA, New Music Collective, Redux and many other local and international activities. With family living in Poland, Italy, and the US, he travels extensively. His passion for transcendent ideas and his ability to see through any material and work within its quintessence brought David to the Open Dome.
