Music With a Message

by Ian Downie on Aug.14, 2009, under Projects

Open Dome Productions recently produced an awareness video for the Coastal Conservation League. It features their director making the call to action for musicians to raise their activist voice online! Watch the video here.

2nd Annual Green Fair
Sunday, September 27th, 2009

Last year’s event drew over 5,000 people to Marion Square to learn about changes they can make in their lives to better the environment. This year’s music lineup includes Jesse Colin Young, the lead singer of ʻ60s sensations, the Youngbloods. Their hit song “Letʼs Get Together” (“Cʼmon people now, smile on your brother”) became a soundtrack for peace in that era of great social change.

The Coastal Conservation League is searching for Jesseʼs co-headliner. With our world in another flux of change – climate change – musicians and performance artists nee convince the public that you deserve a spot playing on the big Green Fair stage in Marion Square.

We’re looking for musicians with a message that convey their desire for a better world.

The public will vote online during the month of August for their favorites, and the League will choose a grand prize winner from among the top three vote-getters. Winners will be notified by Friday, September 4.

Winners and Prizes:

The top three winners will receive cash prizes of $500, $250, and $100, as well as a performance slot on the main stage at the 2009 Green Fair. (Depending on the number of quality entries, style, and length of performances, more than three acts may receive slots). In addition, the grand prize or top music performance winner will receive a day of professional studio time at Awendaw Green Studios. All winners will be heavily publicized in Green Fair promotions, including advertisements in the City Paper. The videos will be shown in online promotions and throughout the Green Fair. This is a chance for performing acts to grow, and an opportunity for your voice to make a difference.

Web of Water

by Ian Downie on Oct.28, 2008, under Projects

We have been working with the Lowcountry Environmental Education Programs for several years now. We’re proud to be a key part of Leep’s 2008 Web Of Water expedition. WOW is a kayak expedition to promote an appreciation of our natural and cultural heritage as well as an understanding of the challenges we face with growth and change. We provided all ground logistics, transportation and much of the nature videography in the film.
